Can a Born-Again Christian Be Demon Possessed?

You cannot be demon-possessed if you are a born-again Christian because you have the Holy Spirit indwelling within you (Romans 8:9). However, you can be demon-influenced if you expose yourself to demon-related media, such as pornographic magazines or videos, worldly ideologies (transgenderism, conservatism, liberalism, Sharia law), television, rock and country music, psychologists, psychiatrists, alcohol, drugs, or anything else that allows access to the spirit world. We must recognize and stay away from DOORS TO SATAN. Satan can afflict you if God permits it, but you can only be spiritually destroyed from the inside by incrementally subjecting yourself to satanic influences. Wicked thinking is responsible for every tragedy in the human character.

Although the Bible doesn’t say directly whether a Christian can be possessed by a demon, it is rather evident from related biblical facts that Christians cannot be possessed by a demon. There is a clear distinction between being oppressed or affected by a demon and being possessed by one. Demon possession occurs when a demon has total control over a person’s ideas and/or behavior (Matthew 17:14-18; Luke 4:33-35; 8:27-33). A demon or devils attacking a person spiritually and/or pushing them toward sinful behavior is known as demon oppression or influence.

Demons were only expelled by Christ and the apostles, and in each case, the demon-possessed individuals were not Christians. The prospect of being inhabited by demons is never mentioned in the New Testament epistles to believers. A sincere believer is not seen being rebuked, bound, or having devils thrown out of them. Neither believers nor unbelievers are told to cast out demons throughout the epistles.
